Xavier Catholic Education Trust

On 1st September this year, nine Catholic schools from across the Weybridge and Woking Deaneries joined together to form the first Multi-Academy Trust in our Diocese,  Xavier Catholic Education Trust, named after St Frances Xavier the great missionary. The aim of the Trust is to provide the children in our care with the best possible education within a caring and supportive Catholic ethos. The Trust has, at the centre of its mission and purpose, the belief that every child has a right to educational excellence.  The schools in our Trust are:
•      Cardinal Newman Catholic Primary School, Hersham
•      Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Addlestone
•      Salesian School, Chertsey
•      St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, Molesey
•      St Anne’s Catholic Primary School, Chertsey
•      St Augustine Catholic Primary School, Frimley
•      St Charles Borromeo Catholic Primary School, Weybridge
•      St Hugh of Lincoln Catholic Primary School, Knaphill
•      St John the Baptist School, Woking
On a day to day basis, children, parents and staff  won’t have noticed any changes but behind the scenes a huge amount of work has been going on to ensure we are best placed to serve the needs of Catholic families going forward.  Each school has retained its own Governing Body, each of which continue to make decisions for individual schools but being part of a larger family of schools brings significant benefits, for example: working together to train, develop and retain teachers, support staff and leaders and share expertise and resources; achieving economies of scale in purchasing, streamlining services and having access to the two Teaching Schools within the Trust (Salesian and SJB).

These are exciting times for Catholic education in our Diocese.  Further information can be found on our website www.xaviercet.com
